Indy House - Phnom Penh, Cambodia

It’s a familiar origin story in the Phnom Penh restaurant scene: three friends, looking to mix things up, move to the capital and decide to open a business. But if the set up is all-too-recognisable, the end result – a quirky, and tasty, little eatery near Russian Market – remains a winner. Its cheap, reliable, super popular and so incredibly tasty! The Thai trio dubbed their eatery Indy House, a tip of the cap to the “independent spirit” they say drove the adventure. The small Tuol Tom Poung space serves simple but tasty sets of grilled meats accompanied by fried rice, salad and fries. The chicken, just $3 for a plate, makes for a quick, light lunch, but a variety of pork, beef and lamb cuts are also available at similar price-points.
